there is only one truth
the universe is infinite
(this vague thought brought to you by season one reruns.)
I had sort of lost interest in Daniel and Vala but now I'm back, baby! I would have liked it to be more shippy but I think that they have decided not to let Vala be so...overtly flirty, or something. That's okay with me; I like the subtle bits where you have to want it to see it, if you know what I mean.
Off to look for post-ep fic! It's early yet but some people are really quick.
I can't wait for season ten this summer. I'm sure I'm going to be disappointed with whatever they actually do, but at least new episodes will mean new fanfiction!

Really, it's not til next season that we really get to see them together again, I believe. Early spoilers seem to indicate that they're still going for the whole Vala-Daniel-banter thing, which is most excellent as far as I'm concerned. I'm still rather displeased with the concept of That Thing They're Doing (*practises being vague*) but I can deal with it.
What I want, and what I'm trying to persuade myself not to be disappointed when they don't do, is for them just to be really glad to see each other again and be compelled to touch, to hug, to grab each other. They were ever overly tactile with each other, and I liked that.
I have a whole bunch of new fic links I wanna dump here but I can't just now. If I have time to mess about in fandom what I really ought to do is write up a few of my latest dumb fic ideas; that'd be a better use of my time. I'm well aware that I'll never be a good fiction writer, and I bloody well never finish anything anyway, but I think it's good for me to get it out rather than leave it all boiling around in my head distracting me.
One day the Chappa’ai did open, and through it came a Prior of the Ori. And the Prior did speak and did read from the Book of Origin at great length.
Many of the followers of Qetesh did not accept as fact the Ori’s claims, as they believed in their hearts that the great god Qetesh would one day return. And so the Prior departed again, with a promise to return.
( One day soon after this, Azdak entered the temple and discovered )
Nerca Beyul's ff.net C2: Connected: Daniel Jackson and Vala Mal Doran is now syndicated on LJ as
Stuff I have previously listed that's been updated:
FallenPride: Lasting Bonds
Prologue
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4
Chapter 5
Chapter 6
Chapter 7
Chapter 8
Chapter 9
Chapter 10
I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something that I meant to add here. Also, I have not put this stuff into my big list yet. I want to add ratings and better info to that eventually. Lots of them are just plain links with no descriptions, which is really irritating when I try to actually use it to find something. Sort of defeats the purpose!
janedavitt: Retaliatory Strike
littleheaven: Downpour
Hybridbabe: Phantoms (er, don't I already have this one from another source? Totally deja vu here)
Things I Think About Writing Or Wish Someone Else Would

I would totally love to see Jack visiting (Actual Real Live Jack and not Phoning It In RDA, so let us say just in fic) and hanging with SG1 and Vala. And SG1 gets called away to some briefing or something to which Vala and Jack are not invited, and Daniel is all terrorized and Teal'c and Sam have to drag him away as they leave Vala and Jack in the stupid misnamed commissary and hear Vala say "Let's talk about Daniel behind his back" and Jack's reply "Yes, let's." They totally would do that.
Also, I would like Cam to have a BBQ or whatever random otherwise gathering and invite Daniel & Vala and warn them that many guests will be given the dumb Deep Space Radar Telemetry cover story. Daniel's all "we'll need a cover story for who Vala is" and Cam's like "Duh, I'll just say this is Daniel's girlfriend. We don't need much more than that." Vala likes that and Daniel's all put out that no one's giving him a choice.
OK, so and I am somewhat obsessed with the thing what has been in several lovely and wonderful fics already, the "Vala comes home from the Ori galaxy" bit. Because, like, she will, right? Or Daniel and SG1 maybe will go get her. I like that. But also I like that she gets her own damn self home. And maybe she's not sure if Daniel will even be glad to see her, even though she usually thinks she's awesome, because he was pretty rude to her on that last day. Anyway I have eight million different ideas of ways for various things to happen. And I wonder, will she be hurt and in the infirmary or will she be emotionally hurt and sad or will she be happy to see Daniel or will that other crap from the spoilers that I don't want to happen be happening. Probably that last one.
Also, I keep forgetting that I made up the bit wherein during the episode about which I read spoilers where Vala communicates through Daniel, ok the bit I made up is that she-in-Daniel writes Daniel a note (and gives it to Teal'c I don't know why) about stuff, about missing him and things. And probably writes it in Ancient and Goa'uld and whatever the heck her childhood dialect or alphabet was or something because that would be really cool to Daniel because he likes crap like that. And I know she doesn't read Ancient but I bet she learns during her time with the Ori people who apparently write in Ancient too. She's smart. Anyway, my point is that I keep forgetting that the note-writing bit was not a spoiler but just Made Up By My Stupid Imagination. I think.
Another thing that I thought of actually in an actual dream was an apocafic where Vala does not succeed in stopping the Ori beachhead (but doesn't die - either didn't go or was beamed out or someone else went, I don't know, whatever) and then Bad Stuff Happens and the Prometheus limps away from a fight and Earth is probably under attack but they have no way to know and they're not sure if everyone's dead or what, but think probably so. They're all stuck living on the ship. And, er, I don't know.
Daniel wandered through the marketplace. He'd tagged along with SG-11 out of pure boredom, and wasn't particularly finding anything here of interest. The market was pretty typical, full of baskets of fruit, badly-made rugs, and rather a lot of apolitical free Jaffa selling secondhand weapons and other items they'd probably liberated from the caches of their former masters.
A somewhat familiar voice caught his attention from a stall around the corner.
"That's completely absurd! Why do you assume I'm trying to cheat you?"
Oh crap. ( read on )
Well then! Hurray!
